Privacy Policy
Last updated 14 October 2026. In short: your photos never leave your device, and we don't track you.
Your photos stay with you
SnapEx is a website that runs entirely in your browser. When you open a photo, your browser reads it, shows its metadata, and builds any edited or cleaned copy on your own device. The photo is never uploaded to SnapEx or to anyone else.
What we don't collect
- We don't receive, store or see your photos or their metadata.
- We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
- There are no accounts, sign-ups or forms.
Services the page loads
To work, the page loads a few files from other services. Like any website, each of them receives standard request information such as your IP address and browser type, but never your photos:
- Vercel hosts the site and keeps short-lived server logs.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces.
- jsDelivr and cdnjs serve the open-source libraries that read and write metadata (exifr, piexifjs).
- Google Maps shows the location map, only when a photo contains a GPS location. To draw it, your browser sends the photo's coordinates to Google, never the photo itself. Google's own privacy policy applies to that request.
If you use Load from URL, your browser downloads the image directly from the address you entered. That site sees the request; SnapEx does not.
Cookies and storage
SnapEx sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. The services above may set their own cookies under their own policies.
Open source
All of SnapEx's code is public on GitHub. You can also open your browser's developer tools while using the site and confirm that no photo data is sent anywhere.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
